A girl sits enclosed within a transparent box. The space feels both protective but also isolating and lonely, so quiet in a way that it softens and also suffocates at the same time. Some see a sanctuary. Others, a self-made prison.
The Box emerged during a time when Yume found herself retreating inward, choosing stillness over uncertainty. There was comfort in the predictability of that space, a sense of control that the outside world could not offer. Yet, as she lingered there, the line between safety and limitation began to blur, and the stillness grew heavier. In its making, she realized that what feels like protection can slowly become confinement when fear is left unquestioned.
This piece belongs in a study or reading corner, where it can remind you to reflect on the spaces you inhabit — and whether you are truly being held, or quietly held back.
